Dr. Jonathan Shaner is a native Texan, born in Austin and raised in Georgetown. Growing up, he played football, basketball and baseball, but he enjoyed combat sports such as boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, and Brazilian jiu jitsu the most. He continues to stay active, practicing Brazilian jiu jitsu and weight training, which has helped him realize the importance of form and function in relation to the body’s health and wellness.

Education and Honors
Dr. Shaner graduated from Parker University, where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree and two Bachelor’s degrees in Anatomy and Physiology, and Health and Wellness. Dr. Shaner graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences/Kinesiology. Dr. Shaner is certified in Active Release Techniques for the Upper and Lower Extremities,Spine, and Nerve Entrapment. He is board-certified with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and licensed through the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Experiences
Dr. Shaner’s chiropractic education included a one-year clinical rotation, during which he spent three months in Bogotá, Colombia. While in Bogotá, Dr. Shaner had the opportunity to treat the Colombian Olympic team as they prepared for the London 2012 Olympics. He also visited many orphanages, treating children from three to fourteen years of age. Additonally, he worked with the cadets in training at the Colombian National Police Academy. Dr. Shaner has studied and lived all over Texas, but knew he wanted to return home to Austin to start his career.
